about.
Sten, saks, papir (Rock, Scissors, Paper) is the creative collaboration of Arendse Stensgaard and Wiebe van der Vliet — life partners evolved into creative partners. The name reflects their approach to creativity: rock as origin and foundation, scissors as the act of shaping and cutting, paper as imagination and possibility. Together, these elements mirror the balance they seek in their work — between past and future, intuition and craft, analysis and play.
Wiebe van der Vliet is a Dutch filmmaker and XR artist based in Copenhagen. With more than three decades of experience in film, he has for over 15 years expanded his practice into immersive storytelling and modern media. His work moves between cinema, history, and emerging technologies, exploring how stories take shape when viewed through different lenses.
Arendse Stensgaard brings a complementary perspective. With over 20 years of practice as a psychologist, she has worked with storytelling as a way to help people heal, reframe their experiences, and create stronger narratives for their lives. Her background emphasizes how stories are not only told but lived — and how reshaping them can open space for transformation.
Over time, their practices have merged into a shared creative universe. In Sten, saks, papir, film and psychology, editing and lived experience, rock, scissors, and paper come together — producing works that invite reflection, recognition, and connection across time.
